Lead Estimator / Preconstruction Manager

A growing, highly respected commercial general contractor in Columbia, SC is seeking an experienced Lead Estimator / Preconstruction Manager to play a key role in the continued growth of its commercial construction division.

This is an opportunity for someone who wants more than simply turning out estimates. You’ll work directly with company leadership, have a real voice in which projects are pursued and how they’re won, and take ownership of commercial opportunities from early preconstruction through turnover to operations.

The company pursues a healthy mix of negotiated and hard-bid commercial projects, giving this individual exposure to everything from conceptual budgeting and preconstruction planning to detailed estimating, subcontractor coverage, value engineering and final bid strategy.

What We’re Looking For

• 5+ years of commercial estimating/preconstruction experience

• Experience with both negotiated and hard-bid commercial projects

• Strong conceptual budgeting and detailed estimating capabilities

• Solid understanding of commercial construction costs, scopes and constructability

• Ability to develop strong subcontractor coverage and relationships

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• A collaborative, entrepreneurial mindset

• Someone who wants ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to make an impact
